Happy Earth Day!

I love Google's homepage today:

I love the idea of Earth Day. It's wonderful in theory- let's save the world!

In execution, of course, things start to fall apart. What really happens on Earth Day, other than a few speeches, a few rallies, and a lot of people in green T-shirts?

I don't know, honestly.

Sony celebrates Earth Week with seminars, fairs, art exhibits, and a lunch. Since this week also has "bring your child to work day," the kids get to draw with sidewalk chalk all over one of the long stretches of sidewalk that's inside the Sony lots. Good times, had by all.

I was too busy to go to anything, naturally, so this Earth Week is passing me by without much impact on my life. That's sad, really. If nothing else, we should recycle, compost (which actually grosses me out), plant a tree ... something.

I'm settling for a blog post about it.

Happy Earth Day!
