Movies I've watched in bold. Lots of notes in italics. Movies that I will never watch are
I know there will be those that are judgmental- I'm fully aware of the fact that I have lowbrow taste in movies, I can't help it. If you look over the history of the films that I've worked on, it should really tell you something. I like to enjoy movies. I have strong opinions about actors, and will not see movies if an actor that I don't like is starring in it. I also don't like horror movies or, generally, war films. Or anything too dark or angsty.

Well, the good news is, it's past 1:00 in the morning and I'm done with work. Hooray!
The bad news is, I get to go to work by 8:30 tomorrow (today) morning. Booooooo.
All I want to do tomorrow is curl up on the couch and watch some movies from the noughties. Maybe re-watch some old favorites and even discover new favorites?
Instead, I shall be trying to contribute to the making of what will potentially end up on a few "best of" lists in the future. I'm a little sad that none of the films I've worked on qualify as the 100 best, but at least two of them have won Academy Awards. So HA, English newspapers, HA on you.
Bedtime for me, otherwise I would be expounding upon the poor choices in both these lists...
we have similar taste in movies, but i think i'm a little bit more high-brow (which is not necessarily a good thing). get thee to a video store (yeah right, like we do that now) and get in the mood for love. expect it to be slow. that's the way wong kar wai works.
ReplyDeletei would watch it on a really rainy day, since you don't want him to put a damper on a bright and sunny day.
Honestly, I'm a little ashamed of my low-brow taste. Especially since I live in such a good city to catch indie movies!
ReplyDeleteI think Maggie Cheung is beautiful- the movie won't be too slow, I'll be busy staring at her.
Knowing me, I'll probably buy the DVD as soon as I ever see it in any store that I happen to be in.
Will definitely watch someday! That and "Eat Drink Man Woman" have been on my list for ages.
